This is the site of the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers. They offer a voluntary helpline run by a breastfeeding counsellor. There is an online magazine, a list of recommended books, information on how to become a counsellor yourself and a great link up system to find other breastfeeding mothers in your area.

Breastfeeding Network
This is the site of the Breastfeeding Network which offers independent support and information about breastfeeding. See this site for a list of BfN Breastfeeding Centres and information on a range of topics including thrush and evidence for colic treatments. They also have a helpline called Supporterline 0870 900 8787 open from 9.30am to 9.30pm which will connect you to your nearest Breastfeeding Supporter.

La Leche League
La Leche League aim to help breastfeeding mothers through support, information and education. They produce the ‘Breastfeeding Answer Book’ and provide a 24-hour support line (020 72421278). They also have material for health professionals and have support groups all over the world.

National Childbirth Trust
This website covers many aspects of birth and parenting and has a great section on how to breastfeed your baby. It includes all the basic information on breastfeeding plus information on reading centile charts to check growth, information on weight gain and a good section on feeding twins. You can order the NCT Book of Breastfeeding on line. There is a dedicated breastfeeding line from 8am to 10pm 7 days a week on 0870 4448708.
