North East Lincolnshire Libraries have a whole range of resources to offer children under 5 and their carers. Any child from 0 onwards can join the library. It costs nothing to join and there is a whole host of exciting initiatives and resources to access as well as a vast range of the newest and best books.
- Bookstart Crawl – this is aimed at the very young children, to introduce them to books at the earliest opportunity.
As soon as possible bring the child to the library and get them their very own membership card.
Each time they take a book out they will get a stamp on their very own Bookstart Booklet. When they have collected 6 stamps they will receive a beautiful certificate. There are 6 to collect
- Bookstart packs – these packs are free and aimed at children aged around 7 months. They contain 2 books, drawing materials, and some useful guides on reading for parents.
These packs are a gift and do not have to be taken back to the library.
- Bookstart Plus packs – these packs are free and aimed at children around 18 months. They contain 2 books, drawing materials, friezes for the walls and some useful information on further reading for the parent.
Again this pack is a gift.
- Treasure Box – from September every child aged 3 is eligible for one of these wonderful boxes. The main feature as before is books but an assortment of other goodies will be included.
Again this is a gift.
- All these packs will be available from Surestarts, Clinics, Childminders, and all North East Lincolnshire libraries.
