Who is the web site for? |
| A. |
The web site is for all children and young people living in North
East Lincolnshire. You have to be aged between 5-25 to register.
The site is split in to 3 areas that cater for different age groups:
5-11 Watch: 5-11 years
Teensylvania: 12-16 years *
Buzz: 17-25 *
The web site is aimed at any young person that wants to find out
information about what is going on around them, or, have their say
about the issues that affect them.
* Teensylvania and Buzz will be merging in to one site, aimed
at 12-18 year olds. This will also incorporate The Council For Young
People. There will be a new name and new look to the site.

I've tried to get on the site but it doesn't
seem to be working. Do I need anything special to view it and if so,
how do I get it? |
| A. |
You will need Flash Player to view the site. This allows your
Internet browser to see any animation. You can get this for free
from the Macromedia web site, or by clicking on this link:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/
It is totally free and will not harm your computer in any way.

| Q. |
What kind of information will I find on
the site? |
| A. |
You will find information about the services and activities that
are available to you in North East Lincolnshire. The site contains
sections as follows:
What’s On:
Lists all kinds of activities from general hobbies to sports, arts
and music. You can find out where these activities are, when, how
much and who to contact if you want to take part.
Who’s Who:
A list of services available in NE Lincs. Maybe you need some advice
or want to find a support group. You can find this information here.
What’s What:
Information and advice on family and relationship issues, drugs
and alcohol, work and education.
Your Future:
Information on careers, school, college and university
Features:
Competitions and games. The web site regularly gives prizes away
to anyone that provides feedback on the site.
Say what/Your say:
This is the area that provides the most interaction within the site.
In here you will find a forum or message board where young people
can get together and talk about the things that are important to
them. Also, you can directly contact In Ur Area about anything you
want to see on the web site or any questions you might have.
The section areas vary slightly depending on the age group.
*Due to the feedback we receive from our visitors, these sections
may change over time. The site grows and changes depending on what
young people tell us they want.

| Q. |
How do I register to get into the Members' area - what information
do you need? |
| A. |
You will need a leaflet that has on it a code for each age group.
You can get these from your school, youth club or local library.
If you do not have one, here are the codes:
| 5-11 Watch |
Teensylvania |
Buzz |
| Username: regwatch |
Username: regteen |
Username: regbuzz |
| Password: register |
Password: register |
Password: register |
Next, go to www.inurarea.co.uk
, click on the button for your age group and click on the ‘register’
link. Type in the code and this will take you to a registration
form. The form needs your full name, date of birth and postcode.
You will also need to choose a user name and a password that will
give you access to the secure areas.
Once you have submitted this, your details will be checked and
you will be sent a confirmation email or letter, then you will be
able to access the secure features of the site. The confirmation
will not be sent immediately, so please be patient and only register
once.

want to look at. Who should I tell? |
| A. |

the web site about any of your ideas. You could also post a message
in the Forum or Message Board and share your ideas with other people.
The forums are monitored so your suggestions will be seen.

| Q. |
I've got some information that I think would be useful to
the site, how do I arrange for it to be put on and what format would
it need to be in? |
| A. |
The first step would be to email the web site at:
Info@inurarea.co.uk
We can forward your request to our content manager and the process
would continue from there. Alternatively you can request a pro forma
from either the above email address or:
Michelle.davies@nelincs.gov.uk
The pro forma includes clearly defined areas for you to put your
information in. In the future, the pro forma will be available on
the web site.
We would prefer content to be sent electronically. For example,
if you have a leaflet about your club/service, it would be better
to send the original document as a .doc or .txt file on CD or floppy
disk.
If you are sending artwork (logo’s, photographs etc), then
we would like these as .gif’s or .jpg’s.
